I did edit the video for time, this took place over about three full minutes. She puts the "education letter" on the trash can and takes a photo. Notice how she only had the education letter with her not the notice of code violation. My neighbor picked this piece of paper up off the street not realizing it was for her. #memphis #litterbug #dobetter

So the first letter is the "education letter" that was left on people's handles of trash cans. the notice of violation was photographed with the education letter and then removed. Most if not all of the education letters became litter sweeping down my street within an hour of them leaving. Last night 311 was back in my area and I asked them if they were going to fix this. They said that they were investigating and they may rescind. when I ask if they were going to go door to door handing back out the corrections I was told NO... emphatically. So they have all the time and the money to write out five or six streets worth of fake notices but they don't have the time or money to go back and tell those residents it was the city's error. I want the photos of my home deleted from their database and I want a letter from them stating that they did that in error and moving forward they will do their due diligence before writing Mass violations.

At the end of the day citizens deserve the services that we pay for. We deserve them in a timely fashion and we should not be penalized with either weird paperwork that doesn't count or fines that do count. if it's too hot for workers to get the trash and to get the recycling I'm okay with them taking the day off. I don't want anyone to have a heat stroke. You can't penalize people when you don't do your job.
