Hands are quite possibly the most expressive part of the human body…I remember as a kid working tirelessly to get the hands of my drawings just right. I would force myself to fill pages in my sketchbook of just hands from every angle so I could memorize their form, so when I attempt to paint or draw the human figure, I’m not overwhelmed at the task, especially when it comes to the 5 digits attached to each palm. The human hand, with its sinewy tendons, knuckles that behave like round hinges that pick up reflective light. Veins that wrap the surface, traveling above 27 bones as well as a variety of muscles and nerves that signal to this mastery of biological mechanisms, what it’s to do. Speaking with your hands, palming your cheek when in awe of something, or holding your child’s hand in admiration of its brand new appearance. The hand is endless in its ability to communicate. Here’s to the hand!🖐️✌️🤝👊👆🤛🫳🫶 - - - - - #contemporarypainting #figurativepainting #edengolan #newcontemporary #oilpainting #realism #surrealism #chicagoartist #israeliartist #americanartist
