Replying to @Lizzy 🌻 responding to all the questions about symptoms and why Billie’s death was so sudden. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT AN EXPERT. We didn’t get the chance for treatment so there is a lot about neuroblastoma and cancer that I don’t know. If I misrepresented something please let me know. Baby Billie 2/2/22-8/24/24. Billie had neuroblastoma that silently spread through her respiratory system. She had very minor symptoms her last 2 weeks that seemed like teething. She had 2 drs appts and there was nothing off with her vitals or growth. Her cancer spread very abnormally and only affected her respiratory system which is why we didn’t see symptoms. Common symptoms of neuroblastoma are: - distended stomach - nausea - lack of appetite - slow down in growth - limping - unexplained bruising - lack of energy/play - stomach mass or a mass anywhere else in the body Please seek out testing if you see these symptoms. Early diagnosis is huge in childhood cancer. 80% of neuroblastoma is already stage 4 metastatic by the time it’s diagnosed. Our babies deserve funding and research.
