Over the last few weeks, I’ve caught myself doing something I know so many of us do… I’ve been expecting this version of me to perform like the version of me who wasn’t carrying so much. The version of me before the divorce. Before the uncertainty. Before the broken trust. Before the grief. Before everything felt like it was changing all at once. And the more I thought about it, the more I realized… Of course my capacity looks different right now! That doesn’t mean I’ve become less capable. It means I’m navigating different terrain. So I’m not stepping away… I’m simply choosing to honor this season instead of pretending I’m still living in the last one. If you’re in a season that feels heavier than expected, I hope you’ll stop measuring yourself against a version of you who wasn’t carrying what you’re carrying now. Your destination hasn’t changed.
