mumuksu - breaking GOD (Full album, 2025) | Doom, black metal Few subjects have been explored in metal as much as religion, some bands being inspired from it while others (well, most) being adversarial to it. Mumuksu falls firmly into the second camp, and thankfully, when many use their supposed opposition to religion as camouflage to disguise their racism, antisemitism, islamophobia or ethnonationalism, the Malaysian sower of doom does it for all the right reasons. "Breaking GOD" rails against blind subservience to entrenched belief systems, herd mentality, the death of personal autonomy and self-responsibility, the submission to fear. And the first thing you'll notice in this release is the passion. Trishay feels every note, every word, in his soul, and howls it out for all to hear. This are not the sounds of academic detachment but those of someone that has been touched by the issue, that has felt the anguish of living under religious despotism and is desperate for freedom. And it is that passion (and the disgustingly heavy and slow riffs of course) that draw a parallel from Mumuksu to Mizmor. Except where Mizmor were first mourning their loss of religious belief and then coming to terms with their new, terrible, freedom on a personal level, Trishay is raging against the weight that seeks to keep him and everyone around him in 'holy' chains, whether they like it or not. This is Mumuksu raging against the dying of light. Witness them! #rabm #blackmetal #metal #antifascist

Alicia Cordisco - The Burden of I (Full album, 2025) | Progressive black metal We're happy to welcome back Alicia Cordisco on ABMN, an artist that we've already hosted numerous times, mainly through her band Transgressive, the death/thrash powerhouse from Arizona who has been carrying the flag of anti-fascist metal since 2021. One of the most outspoken artists in the metal scene, either about her trans identity or any other topic, the ever-productive Alicia has been always balancing musically inbetween the styles of classic heavy metal and extreme metal, with a background in the power metal scene, having played in the past in well known bands like Judicator (and also we shouldn't forget the sadly defunct now Project Roenwolfe). And though she's experimented with almost every genre of metal by now, something was missing. Indeed, a black metal record, which is amended now with her first solo release under her own name. The four tracks that are comprising this album are each close to the 10 minute mark, making for a quite substantial listen. The style could be described as melodic black metal with a heavy metal backbone and a prog edge, featuring a lot of guitar leads and solos in a classic Alicia fashion. On vocals she's joined on this release by Vanessa Funke, another highly productive artist that you should already be aware of through our uploads as well, while lyrically it's one of the most personal albums for Alicia, conveying a personal story about her struggles with isolation, identity, trauma driven despair, and purpose. What's more to say? Go check this out and support Alicia!

Brodkant - Rise of Hellcimex 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐭 - 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐜𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐱 (EP, 2025) | Black punk Brodkant is a mainly crust-punk band with a light taint of black metal, which you will find mainly in the drums. 'Rise of Hellcimex' is their first EP, featuring a cover from Dishammer. No time to linger in nice melodies or intros, their really embody the spirit of punk, very short and blasted songs, lyrics shouted, raging drums and guitars. I really love their cover from 'Under The Sign of the D-Beat Mark' which is way more brutal and black-metal-ish and really brings a new taste to that old song. If you like DIY, punk anarchism, and you want to listen to music that smells like your local squat, Brodkant is your band! No worries on the politics, we had covered already one of the other bands from the person behind Brodkant, and they released everything with their punk collective Ruptura Punx! #blackmetal #antifascist
