A serum ferritin concentration of less than 30 μg/L and now research suggests less than 50 μg/L is the cut off for iron deficiency. Unfortunately the laboratory reported lower limit of normal (LLN) is typically lower starting at 15 μg/L or less. Make sure you’re up-to-date with colon cancer screening. Colonoscopy should start at age 45 . If you have a family history of disease, it should start sooner.
