A peaceful reminder about the holiday of Thanksgiving is that it is shrouded in a lot of unspoken truths, misery, and mourning for Native Americans. It’s OK to get together with family, but it’s also important to remember the millions of Native Americans that lost their lives due to deliberate spread of disease. And millions of Native Americans are still dealing with the effects of colonialism to this day. If you want to help natives, a simple thing you can do is steer the people in your life away from harmful stereotypes against Native Americans that might appear in your school curriculum, sporting events, or holiday decorations. Also when planning your Thanksgiving meal, consider buying food or other goods from Native American growers in your area, and make a donation to a local Native organization near you. Native American man tells Peter Santanello of World War II, history involving native Americans, and shows off his AR pistol for protection on the reservation. I do not own this video. This is for educational purposes. ##native##nativeamerican##foryoupage##fyp##rez##nativetiktok##nativepride##indigenoustiktok##navajo##navajoreservation##dine##dinepride##navajoreservation##hopi
