The Atlanta Dream secured an 85-83 victory against the New York Liberty to complete a three-game sweep in the WNBA playoff semifinals, advancing to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2013. A combination of clutch free throws, intense defense, and explosive performances from their core stars propelled the fourth-seeded Dream to victory at the Barclays Center: Leading 83-81 with under 18 seconds remaining, Atlanta turned the ball over, giving New York a chance to tie or win. However, the Dream forced a tough miss from Breanna Stewart on a contested layup with nine seconds left. DeWanna Bonner then iced the game by sinking two free throws with 6.2 seconds remaining to seal the sweep. The Dream overcame the absence of the injured Allisha Gray thanks to major performances by Angel Reese (22 points, 9 rebounds), Rhyne Howard (21 points), and Jordin Canada, who orchestrated the second-half offense to finish with 19 points and 11 assists. Atlanta built a 12-point lead in the third quarter before New York charged back behind a dominant 26-point, 14-rebound night from Jonquel Jones and 26 points from Breanna Stewart. The Dream leaned on their defensive resilience to hold the Liberty off in the final minutes. #basketball #womeninsports #wnba #angelreese #atlantadream
