Being a medically complex parents is weird. You want to enjoy these years that pass so quickly but you spend every second worrying. You want to be happy but in reality it's just waiting for the next storm to hit. You want to give up but you have no other choice you have to keep going. Medically complex life is almost like stages of grief. There is sadness, anger,depression and denial. I can't count how many times I was angry and I questioned why my children?! Why do they have to suffer and hurt? BUT when the days or even hours are good....they are SO good. In those moments we tend to try and soak up every. single. second. Or the opposite we are stuck in fight or flight mode just waiting for the next obstacle. The days we aren't hospitalized or going to multiple doctors visits... the days that don't involve multiple pokes or lots of crying are days we are so incredibly grateful for. To all the medically complex parents out there we see you, we understand and we are so proud of you.
