I came across @thejibaritostop while walking downtown looking for something to eat, and I’m so glad I did! 🙌🏾 I had never tried Puerto Rican food before, so this was my very first experience — and it was definitely #JoyAtFirstBite! 😋 I started with the Parcha, a freshly made passion fruit juice, and the Pepper Steak Plate. Both were amazing! I was in a rush, so I didn’t get a chance to try everything I wanted, but that just gives me another reason to come back. My dad took me to visit @Kakadoodle and this was truly #JoyAtFirstBite 🐓🥚🍯 They have free-range chickens and you can buy fresh washed or unwashed eggs 24/7 from their Chicken Shack through a self-service honor system—straight from the farm. They also sell their own honey, and on weekends they open their farm market with bacon, lamb, chicken, chicken sausage, wings, cheese, milk, baked goods, coffee, and more. If you’re in the south suburbs, go check them out and support local. A day in the life of a foodie with @lime 🍴📱 I’ve been doing a LOT of traveling lately, and it had been a while since I took the time to explore my own city. So, I decided to spend the day enjoying Hyde Park and Bronzeville — and Chicago did not disappoint! 🌆 ☀️ First stop: @dawnchi I started my day with the pot roast and jalapeño cheddar grits — my favorite on the menu! I also had the chicken sausage and brownie, because… foodie. 😂 🦖 Next: @msichicago After breakfast, I headed over to the Museum of Science and Industry to explore different exhibits and fun things to do, including the Anne Frank exhibit. There was so much to take in! 🦞 Lunch in Bronzeville: @twofishcrabshack All that exploring worked up an appetite, so I headed over to Two Fish for a lobster roll with seasoned fries. I had this sandwich before and remembered how good it was, and it was just as good as I remembered! 📚 A little quiet time at the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library After lunch, I headed back to Hyde Park to check out the beautiful @uchicagolibrary, do some reading, and spend a little time journaling. Sometimes you have to slow down and enjoy your own city. 🍽️ And then… @virtuerestaurantchi I ended the day at award-winning Virtue, where I tried the biscuits, melon salad, half chicken, blackened catfish, mac & cheese, blueberry cobbler, and apple cider cake. And man… the food was AMAZING. Just as good as I remembered! This is what a day in the life of a foodie with @lime looked like — good food, great experiences, a little culture, and plenty of time enjoying my own city. ❤️ How would you spend a day exploring Chicago?
