Following on from Part 1 of this reel yesterday, we left Marcus and Dave poised to test their brilliant little Mamod SE1 Stationary Steam Engine from the 1950's. Can they breathe life and movement back into it again or is it doomed to failure despite a brave attempt? There's only one way to find out! Workshop Routines & Rituals - NO.01 LIGHTS If you love a little sneaky peak behind the scenes then our new little series will hopefully entertain you for a few seconds on your daily scroll :-) We love where we work - it's only a small workshop based in a little village called Ardersier near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, but it's home to Silver Fox Tools. There's no ground-breaking revelations, no industrial secrets to give away, but just a humble look at what it takes to keep the workshop ticking over each and every working day. Thanks for your support and why not checkout the shop next time you need a cool little gift for someone or yourself of course! WHAT IS THE CRICHTON COIN? This cool EDC coin is the answer to that age old problem of needing to accurately measure around curves on designs, patterns and blueprints. Available in both metric and imperial versions, the Crichton Coin was named for our founder Dave's grandfather David Crichton who managed a Stationery company in the 1950's. Why 2 coins instead of just engrave metric and imperial on opposite sides? Good question - basically 150mm is 5.9 inches, and 6 inches is 152.4mm so slightly different coin diameters are needed to make them both accurate and usable therefore. #musthaves #finds #smallbusinesscheck #edc #edcgear #everydaycarry #craftmanship #edccoin #measuring #measuringtools #madeinscotland #brass #brasstool
