💦 🪨 The Baths National Park 🪨 💦 Just the right mix of adventure and relaxation on our excursion to the British Virgin Islands today. After taking a ferry to Virgin Gorda from Tortola (where our cruise ship was was docked) we hiked a series of trails and paths down to a spectacular soft sand beach with turquoise waters. The trail itself wove through crevices between gigantic granite boulders and had a network of ladders and handrails to guide us. Our favorite sections of the trail were where we were stepping across shallow pools of water. It was one of many trails the national park has to offer, but if hiking isn’t your thing, you’ll be happy to know there happens to be a full bar, restaurant, small shopping area and plenty of lounge chairs and shade at the beach, too. Oh, and you don’t have to take this trail. There’s a much simpler path down just a few steps from the parking lot you could take instead… it’s just not nearly as much fun. 😉 Cost to enter: $3/per person Taxi from ferry dock: $40/per vehicle that seats 10 Water shoes or sandals that can get wet are recommended on the trail. 💦 🪨 The Baths National Park 🪨 💦 Just the right mix of adventure and relaxation on our excursion to the British Virgin Islands today. After taking a ferry to Virgin Gorda from Tortola (where our cruise ship was was docked) we hiked a series of trails and paths down to a spectacular soft sand beach with turquoise waters. The trail itself wove through crevices between gigantic granite boulders and had a network of ladders and handrails to guide us. Our favorite sections of the trail were where we were stepping across shallow pools of water. It was one of many trails the national park has to offer, but if hiking isn’t your thing, you’ll be happy to know there happens to be a full bar, restaurant, small shopping area and plenty of lounge chairs and shade at the beach, too. Oh, and you don’t have to take this trail. There’s a much simpler path down just a few steps from the parking lot you could take instead… it’s just not nearly as much fun. 😉 Cost to enter: $3/per person Taxi from ferry dock: $40/per vehicle that seats 10 Water shoes or sandals that can get wet are recommended on the trail. 💦 🪨 The Baths National Park 🪨 💦 Just the right mix of adventure and relaxation on our excursion to the British Virgin Islands today. After taking a ferry to Virgin Gorda from Tortola (where our cruise ship was was docked) we hiked a series of trails and paths down to a spectacular soft sand beach with turquoise waters. The trail itself wove through crevices between gigantic granite boulders and had a network of ladders and handrails to guide us. Our favorite sections of the trail were where we were stepping across shallow pools of water. It was one of many trails the national park has to offer, but if hiking isn’t your thing, you’ll be happy to know there happens to be a full bar, restaurant, small shopping area and plenty of lounge chairs and shade at the beach, too. Oh, and you don’t have to take this trail. There’s a much simpler path down just a few steps from the parking lot you could take instead… it’s just not nearly as much fun. 😉 Cost to enter: $3/per person Taxi from ferry dock: $40/per vehicle that seats 10 Water shoes or sandals that can get wet are recommended on the trail. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen. There is a restroom with changing rooms and showers at the beach, plus lockers for storage. Picnic tables are available and you are permitted to bring outside food. My only complaint about cruising is that we get to gorgeous destinations like this and I don’t want to leave!
