Obviously, as a tuner, I get a lot of LS and LT swapped vehicles in my shop. sometimes they have no issues at all, other times they need to be completely rewired like this C10 did unfortunately. To correct all of the problems it had, it was just more economical and practical to start from scratch and install a new harness from @bpautomotivellc. one quick tip I wanted to throw out there for you guys is to make sure you connect your ignition power wire to the correct source. just because you have 12v when you turn the key on does not mean you still have power when you start to crank the engine over. it's important to verify you have the correct wire or fuse terminal selected before making any final connections. #bentune #performance #lsswap #C10 #trucks

These cars are rated at 455 horsepower from the factory, but we lose a percentage of that power through the drivetrain due to parasitic losses and will put a little smaller number down to the tires. It's important to know what this number is before making any modifications so we can actually tell how much power we gained or lost. This C6 Z06 Corvette was dropped off for some tuning improvements as well as some diagnostic work. The owner stated that a few cylinders were running at different temperatures according to this thermometer and wondered if I could line it out. installing better quality injectors from Injector Dynamics likely solved that issue but after observing a data log, it was evident that other issues still remained. Obviously, as a tuner, I get a lot of LS and LT swapped vehicles in my shop. sometimes they have no issues at all, other times they need to be completely rewired like this C10 did unfortunately. To correct all of the problems it had, it was just more economical and practical to start from scratch and install a new harness from @bpautomotivellc. one quick tip I wanted to throw out there for you guys is to make sure you connect your ignition power wire to the correct source. just because you have 12v when you turn the key on does not mean you still have power when you start to crank the engine over. it's important to verify you have the correct wire or fuse terminal selected before making any final connections. #bentune #performance #lsswap #C10 #trucks

this beautiful, low mileage C5 Corvette was dropped off "just for tuning" after the owner had installed a BTR red hot camshaft along with a set of kooks headers. upon receiving the car at my shop, it did not run as the customer had previously stated to me. hoping it was just some fouled spark plugs or a uniquely finicky engine, I installed the base tune and a fresh set of plugs but nothing changed. after going over a few basic inspection points without finding any issues, I began on installing my fuel pressure gauge to make sure it had fuel pressure, which it did not. the knee-jerk reaction on a 20+ year old car with this condition would be to put a fuel pump in it, but before doing that you really need to do your due diligence to make sure there aren't any other oddball issues...like the ones this car had. #bentune #Chevrolet #Corvette #mechanic #CarMechanicTikTokContest

I had this 2006 Silverado dropped off for tuning because the owner was complaining about it "not feeling quite right.". as it turns out, the previous tuner really didn't know what they were doing. the fuel maps are awful. the spark tables are a little crazy. on top of all that, the fuel injector data, which is the foundation of everything, is also completely wrong. as a little cherry on top, the truck was filled up with E85 because the tuner told the owner he could do so, but this is not a flex fuel enabled vehicle. it does not have a flex fuel sensor any work on it.. so, naturally, it is running quite poorly. all of that aside though, I need the help of every single one of my followers. towards the end of this video I explained why. #bentune #hptuners #tuning #GM #truck

Here's a baseline test I did on this 2016 Camaro SS to see what kind of numbers it's making and to make sure it's in good mechanical condition before we begin the tear down for cam swap. These cars are rated at 455 horsepower from the factory, but we lose a percentage of that power through the drivetrain due to parasitic losses and will put a little smaller number down to the tires. It's important to know what this number is before making any modifications so we can actually tell how much power we gained or lost. Without a baseline for comparison on the same dyno, the final numbers would be virtually meaningless as we would not be able to see how much we gained/lost. #bentune #Chevy #Camaro #SS #LT1

after thinking I had the intake sealed up and realizing that I did not, and that it never would be, I had to give up and move on. after letting the car run for a period of time, it was obvious that it was misfiring. this was easy enough to track down and fix, but the car still has a problem somewhere.... #bentune #hptuners #GM #Corvette #mechanic

This C6 Z06 Corvette was dropped off for some tuning improvements as well as some diagnostic work. The owner stated that a few cylinders were running at different temperatures according to this thermometer and wondered if I could line it out. installing better quality injectors from Injector Dynamics likely solved that issue but after observing a data log, it was evident that other issues still remained. At this point, I decided to smoke test everything due to the MSD intake's reputation for having sealing issues and that's when I found the culprit...or at least another culprit... #bentune #hptuners #Chevy #Corvette #Z06

Obviously, as a tuner, I get a lot of LS and LT swapped vehicles in my shop. sometimes they have no issues at all, other times they need to be completely rewired like this C10 did unfortunately. To correct all of the problems it had, it was just more economical and practical to start from scratch and install a new harness from @bpautomotivellc. one quick tip I wanted to throw out there for you guys is to make sure you connect your ignition power wire to the correct source. just because you have 12v when you turn the key on does not mean you still have power when you start to crank the engine over. it's important to verify you have the correct wire or fuse terminal selected before making any final connections. #bentune #performance #lsswap #C10 #trucks

this C6 Z06 has been a fun project... the car was dropped off for an injector swap and then some diagnosis & tuning. after several rounds of diagnosis, measuring, and testing, I finally discovered an issue in the valve train. it's not only possible, but likely that there are other internal issues that need addressed, but I will not be digging in to this one any further, although it may return at a later date. #bentune #Corvette #Z06 #mechanic #hptuners

As with most C5s, this Z06 has it's fair share of signs of neglect and abuse. Electrical gremlins can often be a pain to diagnose, especially on Corvettes, but this one wasn't really all that bad. The diag continues on this stroked and cammed LS7. after fixing some ignition issues and attempting to seal the intake, the car still has a large discrepancy in fuel trims from bank to bank. the first step in diagnosing this is to install the wideband in each bank individually to see if the O2 sensors are behaving properly. #bentune #hptuners #tuning #Corvette #Z06

this beautiful, low mileage C5 Corvette was dropped off "just for tuning" after the owner had installed a BTR red hot camshaft along with a set of kooks headers. upon receiving the car at my shop, it did not run as the customer had previously stated to me. hoping it was just some fouled spark plugs or a uniquely finicky engine, I installed the base tune and a fresh set of plugs but nothing changed. after going over a few basic inspection points without finding any issues, I began on installing my fuel pressure gauge to make sure it had fuel pressure, which it did not. the knee-jerk reaction on a 20+ year old car with this condition would be to put a fuel pump in it, but before doing that you really need to do your due diligence to make sure there aren't any other oddball issues...like the ones this car had. #bentune #Chevrolet #Corvette #mechanic #CarMechanicTikTokContest

I had this 2006 Silverado dropped off for tuning because the owner was complaining about it "not feeling quite right.". as it turns out, the previous tuner really didn't know what they were doing. the fuel maps are awful. the spark tables are a little crazy. on top of all that, the fuel injector data, which is the foundation of everything, is also completely wrong. as a little cherry on top, the truck was filled up with E85 because the tuner told the owner he could do so, but this is not a flex fuel enabled vehicle. it does not have a flex fuel sensor any work on it.. so, naturally, it is running quite poorly. all of that aside though, I need the help of every single one of my followers. towards the end of this video I explained why. #bentune #hptuners #tuning #GM #truck
